Painting enhances the look of buildings and it is a common element of renovation projects.
It is normally carried out for the following reasons:
- Protecting surfaces from insects, rain, solar radiation and other external factors
- Simpler maintenance: Well painted surfaces are easier to keep clean and safe
- Increasing the visual appeal of a surface
- Waterproofing
- Increasing surface durability
A good paint will offer the following benefits:

Types of Paint
Emulsion Paint
Emulsion paints use polyvinyl acetate and polystyrene as binding materials, and they contain driers like cobalt and manganese. They can be water or oil based, and pigments are used to achieve the desired colour. Emulsion paints are characterized by their fast drying and hardening, and surfaces can be cleaned easily with water. Once applied, they offer durability; good colour retention and alkali resistance. Emulsion paints are commonly used for interior walls, ceilings and masonry work. Some specialized types of emulsion paints can be used for woodwork.
OUR GALAXY COATING
A high-quality pure acrylic emulsion-based coating, which dries to silky sheen finish.
Characteristics:
- Good UV resistance and does not chalk
- Durable against normal weather conditions
- Can be used on most surfaces
- Washable, exceptionally good scrub resistance
- Easy to clean, removes dirt and grime
- Water-based, easy application, low odour, and quick drying
Intended Uses:
- Suitable for direct application to primed or previously painted surfaces (Roof, Paving, Interior & Exterior walls, Ceilings and Wood)
- Suitable for correctly prepared and primed galvanized gutters and downpipes, cement plaster, facia boards and timer
OUR SUPER ACRYLIC COATING
A high-quality acrylic emulsion paint, to give good flow resulting in a smooth matt finish.
Characteristics:
- White remains white, non-yellowing
- Excellent coverage
- Washable, good scrub resistance
- Easy to clean, removes dirt and grime
- Water based, easy application, low odour, and quick drying
Intended Uses:
- Suitable for direct application to primed or previously painted interior walls, metal, and wood
- Final coat for interior walls and ceilings
OUR MID SHEEN COATING
An economical emulsion paint, which dries to mid-sheen finish.
Characteristics:
- Good coverage
- Washable, however scrub resistance, minimal
- Easy to clean, removes dirt and grime
- Water based, easy application, low odour, and quick drying
Intended Uses:
- Suitable for direct application to primed or previously painted interior and exterior walls, metal, and wood
OUR ROOF PAINT
A high quality pure acrylic emulsion-based roof paint.
Characteristics:
- Good UV resistance and does not chalk
- Durable against normal weather conditions
- Can be used on cement roof tiles or corrugated iron roofs
- Easy to clean, removes dirt and grime
- Water based; easy application, low odour and quick drying
Intended Uses:
- Suitable for direct application to primed or previously painted cement roof tiles and corrugated iron roofs
- Suitable for correctly prepared and primed galvanized gutters and down pipes, cement plaster, facia boards and timer
Enamel Paint
This type of paint is produced by adding lead or zinc to varnish. Pigments are added to achieve a wide variety of colours. Enamel paints form hard and glossy coatings, which are easily cleaned. They are characterized by being waterproof and chemically resistant, offering good coverage and colour retention.
The following are some common uses of enamel paint:
- Interior and exterior walls
- Wood trims, doors, and flooring
- Windows
- Stairs
- Surfaces like wicker, masonry, concrete, plaster, glass, and metals
OUR HI-GLOSS ENAMEL
A high-quality Alkyd based coating for interior and exterior uses.
Characteristics:
- Dries to a tough durable gloss finish with good weather resistance
- Withstands scrubbing with detergents
- Ease of application, viscosity designed for easy brushing
Intended Uses:
- Suitable for inland and coastal environments
- Final coat for correctly prepared interior and exterior cement plaster, metal, wood and previously painted surfaces which is still in sound condition
OUR QUICK DRYING ENAMEL
A high-quality alkyd-based coating for general industrial uses.
Characteristics:
- Good adhesion to clean and primed steel
- Quick drying – coating can be handled in 10 – 15 mins (Temperature dependent)
Intended Uses:
- Spray and dip application on suitable prepared mild steel
- General industrial coating
Primer
OUR PRIME-TOP
A high-quality alkyd-based coating for general industrial uses. Dries to a satin finish
Characteristics:
- Good adhesion to clean and primed steel
- Quick drying – coating can be handled in 10 – 15 mins (Temperature dependent)
- Serves as both a primer and topcoat
- Contains anti-corrosive pigment
Intended Uses:
- Spray and dip application on suitable prepared mild steel
- General industrial coating and protects metal against corrosion
OUR SELF ETCH PRIMER
A one pack self-etching primer for steel with anti-corrosive properties.
Characteristics:
- Good adhesion to clean steel
- Fast drying, sprayable, with excellent adhesion promoting properties
- Contains anti-corrosive pigment
Intended Uses:
- Spray and dip application on suitable prepared mild steel
- General industrial coating and protects metal against corrosion
As listed above, there are many types of paints and their applications vary greatly. The reasons to use paint includes visual appeal, surface durability, chemical protection and pest protection.
Each type of paint is designed for specific applications – adequate paint selection can reduce project costs while improving performance.
Painting is often regarded as an aesthetic improvement for buildings, but it brings many technical advantages as well. These include chemical protection and easier maintenance.
